ELITE POLICE SINDH
The Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Elite Police Training Center (SBBEPTC) is a specialist institution that caters for the specialized training needs of the Sindh Police. Starting with the conventional recruit training, the SBBEPTC (formerly Elite Training Center) embarked upon specialized anti-terrorist training program for police force in 1992. SBBEPTC's reputation as a specialist anti-terrorist training institution attracted other law enforcement agencies as well. In addition to Sindh Police, Sindh Rangers' personnel have also received anti-terrorist training and upgraded their operational skills and capabilities through state-of-the-art commando training at the SBBEPTC.
On the pattern of training theme of the Special Services Group of Pakistan Army, the SBBEPTC was tasked to train and prepare police personnel for challenges that started emerging in the early 90's. The SBBEPTC training programs seek to develop and fine-tune the skills and the capabilities of trainees in firearm handling; tactical assault; close combat; physical encounter and VIP security. The training activities have been designed to meet both existing and evolving operational needs of law enforcement agencies. The embedded innovative concepts keeps the training current and valid for all times and circumstances.
Hierarchically, the SBBEPTC is situated under the Training Branch of Sindh Police. In coordination with DIGP Training, Sindh, the Center prepares and runs its training calendar, and schedules graduation ceremonies. The Center maintains a wide variety of services and facilities for its trainers and trainees. A team of administrative staff headed by Commandant who is assisted by a Deputy Commandant controls and administers all training and related functions of the SBBEPTC.
